Timeline to a Dream... up to December 2013

Since it has been so long since our last blog, I thought I would post a brief timeline as a recap of how we got to where we are now...

• 2011 - Father's Day - My husband and I decide it is time to move to the country and start a fiber farm.
• The land search began.  It began with this map...

• 2012 - September 12th - 5 handsome alpaca boys joined our family!  My parents agreed to take let them stay in their old goat barn and pasture until we could find land of our own.
• The land search continued.  We even went to the Chautauqua County Foreclosure Auction.  I highly recommend going just for the experience.

• 2012 - November - A trip to the county seat and some paperwork later and Starry Brook Farm becomes the official name of our family farm.

• 2013 - September 27 - We close on the vacant land in Portland New York that will be home to our Dream.  Who knew it would be in the heart of Wine Country.
• Our one neighbor.
